It has been a historic year for Senior GAA in our school, culminating in a day that will live long in the memory of every student and staff member. After a gruelling campaign our Senior footballers have officially been crowned Dublin Champions. This victory marks the 6th time in the school’s history that the Dublin title has been won. Even more impressively, it is our 5th title in just 10 years.
While the silverware was lifted this month, this success was not an overnight achievement. Last year, the squad laid the foundations by winning the Dublin 'B' Competition. Rather than resting on their laurels, the team used that victory as a springboard, putting in the hard yards during the winter months to bridge the gap to the elite level. Moving from 'B' champions to Dublin 'A' Champions in just twelve months is quite a feat.
None of this would have been possible without the tireless dedication of our coaching duo. A massive debt of gratitude is owed to Mr. Moran and Mr. Moore. Their commitment to preparing the team—be it through early morning training sessions, video analysis, or tactical drills—has been the driving force behind this success.
As the final whistle blows on this season, we must say a poignant farewell to our Leaving Certificate players. They have been the backbone of this squad, leading by example and showing the younger players exactly what it means to wear the school jersey with pride.
As they head off to face their next big challenges in the ‘real world’ we wish them nothing but the very best. They leave the school’s footballing reputation in a very strong place, handing the torch over to their junior colleagues who are undoubtedly ready to defend the crown next year.
