The TY Music and Drama class brought the house down again in The Axis this year, performing their original play ''Six Shot Desperados'' written by Charlie Maguire (4S).
Playing a gang of outlaws, the boys did their best Texas accents and donned their cowboy hats as they told the story of Rango, his unrequited love Clara Belle, and drew their rifles for a stand off with the Sheriff. It was incredible to see such a wonderful group of Transition Years, most of whom hadn't graced the stage since their primary school Nativity, take themselves out of their comfort-zone and perform in front of their family, friends, and, most courageously, the 1st Years!
Through the weeks of rehearsals, they made many sacrifices, including coming in on their days off, and spent their Easter holidays learning lines. I think they will all agree it was worth it in the end, and hopefully they have caught the acting bug, From video editing, public speaking, costume design and learning how to play new music in a tight timeframe, we hope everybody gained some new skills along the way too.
