Our school

The school community of St. Aidan’s CBS would like to welcome you to our website. As you browse through it we hope you will get a good sense of who we are as a school in the 21st century. St. Aidan’s was established in 1964 and is well known for our love of sport, language, music and our outstanding academic achievement, which is fostered by a committed and talented staff.

Our mission statement has a very real presence within the ethos of our ERST (Christian Brothers) school.  That statement guides us in promoting the personal, spiritual, physical, creative and academic development of our students.  As a school, we welcome and encourage parental and community involvement and we derive great personal and professional fulfilment from the role we play in the lives of the young people whose education is entrusted to us.

Through our pastoral care and guidance programmes, we respond comprehensively to the changing demands of students and their families as the boys in our care move from teenage life/adolescence into adulthood.

We offer our students hard working teachers within a modern class setting and a huge variety of subjects. We expect students to actively participate both in their classes and to engage fully with their homework in order achieve their full potential. We also provide a diversity of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.

I hope our website gives you a flavour of what life is like in St. Aidan’s and a sense of the active participation that our students display on a daily basis. I trust that you find the information varied and interesting. I invite your comments and wish you all the best.
