U-14 Hurlers Winning Start

The U 14 hurlers got off to a winning start with a win over St.Fintan’s in their first group game. In the second game they lost out to Ard Scoil Rís in a game played in awful weather conditions. If the lads kept up the effort they will be in with a great chance of making the knockout stages after Easter. The will play St.Benildas next after the February mid- term.

Cross Country Team Win DCU Invitational

Congratulations to our cross country team who won the DCU Invitational in which 102 schools took part in. Our Minors finished 3 rd, our Juniors 4th, our Inters 2nd, and our Seniors 1st, placing the school in 1st place. The top performers on the day were Dan Bivol, Stephen Corry, Séan O Leary who won the Inter Race, and senior captain Adam O Brien who won the Senior race.

Congratulations to all the students involved and their coach Mr. A O Neill on this terrific achievement, there is no stopping their success.

Senior Hurling

The Senior hurlers bowed out at the Semi Final of the "A" Competition this year after being defeated by 2 points by Colaiste Eanna. The school would like to thank all the players for their efforts especially the 6th Years who played their last game in hurling for St. Aidan's CBS. These players are a special bunch and will go on to great things both on and off the pitch in future years.

Well done to the U-16 Hurlers who created history in becoming the first team from St Aidans CBS to win the U-16 A Hurling title. They defeated Colaiste Eoin in the final 4.12 to 2.12. This was a fantastic performance after getting a man sent off and being down by 5 points with 8 minutes to go in extra time. The game was played in dreadful weather conditions but the team showed unbelievable character and heart to come from behind and win the final. They have now qualified for the Leinster final.

U16 Basketball

UThe U16’s have played so well this term but sadly were defeated in the quarter final of the Dublin A championship by a team who may possibly win the all Ireland. The lads played with tremendous spirit, congratulations to them all on the hard work and dedication they put in this year with their own trainings and with helping train the 1st and 2nd year teams.

LCA Football Competition

Great success was had by the LCA class who organised a 1st year football competition as part of their General Education class. This event took place from 11am to 1pm on Thursday 26th November. The interest in the event was high as many students signed up for the competition and on the day the weather was kind. The LCA students were excellent at organising the pupils on the day and great fun was had by all. Well done to all involved
