The 1st years were taken on a school trip to Emerald Park on a day when there was glorious sunshine as a reward for all their hard work during the year. The following is written by Darragh from 1st year after enjoying the trip so much.

We left for the bus in the morning at around 8:30am and made good time to Emerald Park, where we left our bags at the gazebo, and went off on our own ways to go to various rides and attractions. Some people instantly went to the Cu Chulainn roller coaster while others went to the Zoo. There was also a new roller coaster, the Tír na n-Óg, which was quite good. In the Zoo, there were interesting animals, and a new attraction where you could enter the Ring-tailed Lemur enclosure, which was really cool, as you wouldn't even be able to do that at Dublin Zoo!

Around midway through the day, people were getting hungry, so we were thankful that there were food shops everywhere! There were vending machines, a gift shop, and two chip shops. Of course, people also brought lunches with them, at least most people did.

Some people near the end were either very wet if they had rode the Viking voyage, and dizzy if they rode the Cu Chulainn! Three people had won giant vegetable plushies at a throwing game, and I don’t know how they brought those home, especially if they cycle to school!

We left Emerald Park at around 2:30pm and came back to the school, even though one bus was oddly late! Altogether we had a great time and are thankful we got to go! Thanks to Ms Thompson for organising the trip and all the teachers that came on the day.
