Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme

LCVP

LCVP is a two year programme which combines the academic strengths of the Leaving Certificate (established) with a new and dynamic focus on self - directed learning, innovation and enterprise. All pupils study seven Leaving Cert subject plus Link Modules, which consists of the Preparation for the World of Work module and Enterprise Education.

LCVP REQUIREMENTS

LCVP students must take a minimum of five Leaving Certificate Subjects (at Higher, Ordinary or Foundation Level) including Irish: Two of the optional subjects must be selected from one of the designated Vocational Subject Groupings.

Student must have the two vocational subject groupings, either from the 11 specialist groupings or the five service groupings. See VSG table below:

ASSESSMENT

WRITTEN EXAMINATION

Worth 40 %

Takes place on the first Wednesday of May in 6th year

The structure of the Written Examination is as follows:

Section A: Audio Visual Presentation
Section B: Case Study (received in advance by students 1 month before the exam)
Section C: General Questions (Answer any 4 out of 6)

Worth 60 %

Due the first Wednesday of March in 6th year

After a long cross-country season that saw our boys win the Leinster Relays, Dublin Cross- Country and the North Leinster title, we headed to a blustery SETU Arena in Waterford to try and capture the All-Ireland crown.
