This year, The Amber Group in school decided to apply for The Amber Flag, an initiative run by Pieta House. The group organised various activities to promote positive mental health in our school. This included ‘Mindful Mondays’ a mental health awareness day and a school fundraiser.
As a school, we raised €570 for Pieta House, a charity that supports people who have been bereaved by suicide, are struggling mentally, or are having suicidal thoughts. The Amber Group was successful in receiving the amber flag on Tuesday 10th of May. This is a great achievement for our students who have been working hard to achieve this goal and to promote positive mental health in St. Aidan’s.
Each of our Amber Group students were presented with a certificate, awarding them with the titles "Mental Health Heroes". Well done to all involved.
