The Transition Years from the Music and Drama class took part in the DCU access multimedia event which for them it was an incredible and very enjoyable experience. They produced a short film under the ‘journey’ category. The short film, ‘With Eyes We See’, won best category at the TY Multimedia DCU awards in this category. It deals with how best we can appreciate the world through other people’s eyes. Their film is an impressive mix of animation and live action by Alan Williamson and features an original piano score by Seán Reid. Daniel Tobin White and Conal Murray were also involved in the making of the short.
The TY Communication and Media Awards had over 40 fantastic short film entries and the standard was high with only three winning schools. It was a very proud moment for Mr Gill and Mr Humphreys when it was announced that the school was one of the three winners under the ’journey’ category. Well done to all the boys involved on their drive and commitment when making their short film.
