Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week 2023 gave us a little time in our busy school lives to reflect. This year’s theme was ‘Walking Together in Faith and Love’, was dedicated to celebrating the gift of Catholic education and recognising the love and generosity of the entire school community. Students explored many sub-themes but the one that resonated the most with all of us was, - Walking Together to Celebrate – Grandparents’ Day. Grandparents love us very much; they want us to be the best we can be and are proud of all that we do. They teach us wisdom, lessons that we might not learn in school, and about faith. Grandparents can teach us how to pray and to trust in God that all will be well. We give thanks to God for our grandparents and celebrate their contribution to our lives.

As the week came to a close we walked together in hope in Albert College Park. The world can be a scary place sometimes. We might feel afraid or worried for the future. In our Catholic school, we learn that we are never truly alone, that God loves us and that our friends and teachers are there for us. A warm thanks to the Religion Department and TYS for assisting with the students walks in the park.

The 1st years were taken on a school trip to Emerald Park on a day when there was glorious sunshine as a reward for all their hard work during the year. The following is written by Darragh from 1st year after enjoying the trip so much.
