College Awareness Week included hive of activity ranging from students attending a Space Careers Roadshow, to a talk for interested students in Engineering & Analytical Science Careers in DCU. The proximity of DCU makes it very accessible and we had other talks including a Science, Health & Multimedia Careers talk, and Languages and a Science and Health Careers talk. There was also a talk on the HEAR/DARE access route to Higher Education for Sixth Year students while the debating team took part in the DCU Access competition.
Our TY students went to Accenture headquarters for mock interviews following a preparatory workshop done in school while Sixth Year LCA visited Killester College of Further Education for an information talk and tour of the college.
What a wonderful week it was, introducing students to some of the many career possibilities that are out there. Well done to Ms McGrath for its organisation and to all the students who took the time to attend the talks. Hopefully some might be enlightened by the process and have a better idea of which career path they might choose.
