Sports Day this year was back on home turf and what a day it was with a wide variety of events organised by the PE Department. Each class group had their home colours, a schedule of events and off they went into their various rotations. Some students were so impressive with their level of fitness, especially when doing sit-ups, which are no easy task - one or two managed to achieve over fifty sit ups. Some brought extreme dance moves to a skipping rope with great ease and flexibility.
Tug of war is always a winner with the boys. The teams being pulled back and forth, the laughter of the boys as one team go down. The winning team jumping in the air with a great hurrah! All done with great team spirit and sense of fun. Basketball, football, table tennis, long jumps, running and board games were part of the rotations, all combining to hold the students’ interest and enjoyment.
The food truck too was a big success with a steady flow of students and staff availing of the good food. The students enjoyed the day and were exhausted by the end. Well done to all involved and to the PE Department for organising this terrific event.
